ESG – a trend that is definitely here to stay

1 min read

ESG is no longer a buzzword for corporations to throw around, but a rapidly growing mindset to incorporate into portfolios and a way to mitigate risk.

A recent article in the Globe and Mail cites a meta study by McKinsey showing ESG stocks have been outperforming the market consistently.

Another recent study found that companies with high ESG scores experienced lower costs of capital, lower equity costs, and lower debt costs compared to companies with poor ESG scores.

During the recent TSAM East Coast conference in New York, PureFacts announced it was recognized as a 2022 ESGFinTech100 winner due to its ESG Reporting Engine.

Given the huge rise in appetite for ESG tech solutions in financial services, the ESGFinTech100 was produced to identify the 100 most innovative tech companies every financial institution needs to know about as they consider and develop their ESG assessment and performance improvement strategies.

Our president, @Rajini McRae was recently quoted that "doing good is becoming increasingly good for business. Companies that show a better ESG score will have a lower cost of capital leading to faster and more sustained growth.”

ESG factors don’t stop at climate change policies. The list goes much further and includes all aspects of risk to a company. Child and forced labor policies, executive pay, energy consumption, human rights, pollution, community engagement, board independence, DEI and supply chain governance all fall under the ESG banner.

At PureFacts, we present ESG data for asset and wealth management ecosystems in a format that is accurate, methodologically correct, and accessible for both advisors and end investors.

The heart and vision of PureFacts is to see a day where everyone has financial well-being and is given the opportunity to live their best life.

Showing that we also walk the ESG walk, we also recently announced our own program for sustainable and meaningful community growth called PurePossibilities a comprehensive corporate citizenship program designed to help people in three main areas by providing essential needs, support in education, and meaningful employment.

As PureFacts Founder & CEO, Robert Madej states:

ESG, is a trend that is definitely here to stay. Investors want companies to generate returns and do so in a way that aligns with their values
